Project

Sustainable Packaging: Agilitá' Premium Men’s Grooming

Project Overview

For this project, I created a Futurism-inspired brand and logo, designed sustainable packaging, and developed a user-friendly app interface aimed at environmentally conscious male-identifying consumers in the grooming market.

Project Goals

The project involved the ideation and creation of a sustainable men's grooming brand. My design work included: Futurism-inspired logo, developing a grooming product, Sustainable packaging, App Interface for shopping and ordering.

The challenge was to ensure the designs reflected the brand’s sustainability mission while also appealing to a modern, male-identifying audience. I wanted everything to feel sleek and innovative, with a simple and intuitive user experience.

Research & Ideation

The first stage was research. I started by putting together a mood board that highlighted elements of Futurism, sustainability, and masculinity to help guide the design direction.

Before jumping into the logo and visual identity, I knew I had to get a better sense of who the target audience was. I created a persona, Aaron Woods, to help guide my design decisions. My target audience consists of male-identifying individuals who care deeply about sustainability and seek products that are both effective and eco-friendly.

After deciding to create a hair lotion as my product, the next step was developing the mind map. I brainstormed different names for the brand, potential branding elements, packaging ideas, and possible logo features to guide the design process.

Brand Development

After brainstorming I landed on the name Agilità, which means 'agility' in Italian. I felt this name captured the fast, forward-thinking vibe of Futurism while staying true to the brand’s focus on innovation and sustainability. Next was developing a logo that did the name justice.

Next, I developed the brand identity by carefully selecting fonts, colors, and patterns that embodied the essence of Futurism, sustainability, and masculinity.

Product Design

Then, I developed labels for all three types of hair lotion (normal, fine, and dry hair) along with their respective refill pouches. I chose a sustainable, recyclable pouch for the refill and a sturdy, reusable glass bottle for the main product.

App Design

With my brand, product, and final designs complete, it was time to create a one-stop shop for getting the product out there. To start, I designed a simple wireframe to map out the flow, navigation, and overall user experience of the app.

Finally, with all the design issues worked out in the wireframes, it was time it was time to bring the app to life. I created a profile page, a home page with in-app exclusive deals, a product info page, and a view cart & checkout page. Now customers of Agilitá can easily browse products, snag exclusive deals, and have everything shipped straight to their door.

The Outcome

I really enjoyed this project, especially the challenge of creating sustainable packaging and designing a product for men. Futurism was tough for me at first since it’s not my usual style, but researching and brainstorming helped a lot in that area. Overall, I’m happy with the final designs, and I loved having full control over the product design and the app UX. This project taught me a lot about stepping out of my comfort zone, thinking differently about design elements, and understanding how every detail, from the packaging to the app, should align with the brand's mission.
